For this tutorial I used Angela Hobb’s “Under the Sea
Resale Package” which can be purchased from her resale store here. Angela, the
elements in this package are stunning!

This tutorial was
written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.
~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~
Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer.
Highlight LAYER 1.
Select All/Float/Defloat
From the kit, Copy and paste Paper 2
as a new layer just above the template.
Close the paper layer out (You can
keep it closed out through the rest of the tutorial).
Right click on the paper layer in
your layers pallet, choose “Promote Section to Layer” in the submenu.
Deselect.
Effects/Edge Effects/Enhance
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Gaussian and Monochome checked
Nosie: 21%
OK
Delete the template layer.
Highlight LAYER 2.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Move the close out paper layer above
this template layer and open it up.
Position the paper so that the sand
area is over the template.
Right click and choose “Promote
Section to Layer”.
Close out the paper layer.
To the star paper layer, apply Brush
Strokes – Crosshatch:
Match your settings to mine –
Deselect.
DO NOT delete the template layer.
Highlight LAYER 5.
Repeat the above step accept move
the blue/green area over the template layer.
Open up a mermaid tube of choice –
Copy and paste it as a new layer
above both of the stars – move it into a position you like – see my tag for
reference. Be sure to give the tube a
drop shadow at this time.
Close this tube layer out.
Highlight LAYER 2 template.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the Mermaid tube layer.
Right Click your mouse and choose
“Promote Section to Layer”.
Move the promoted tube layer just
above the paper layer that belongs to LAYER 2 template.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Inside Outside
Feather:
Both checked
Feather amount: 20
OK
Tap the delete key 4x’s
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight LAYER 5.
Repeat the above step.
You can delete the closed-out tube
layer.
To each starfish-shaped tube layer:
Duplicate
Change the Properties to Hard Light
and Lower the Opacity to 32.
To LAYER 3, 4, 6, 9, and 10:
Click on the template with your
Magic Wand.
Open up the paper layer and move
into a position you like over the template.
Right click and choose “Promote
Section to Layer”.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Use same settings
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Match your settings to mine –
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight LAYER 7.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into
Selection.
Click the lock icon at the top of
your layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 10
OK
Give it the same Noise effect.
Unlock the layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #7b7867
Background: #000000
Make your Color Replacer Tool
active.
Highlight LAYER 8.
Double Right click your mouse over
the words.
They should have turned black.
Close out the background color in
your color pallet.
Make your Ellipse Tool active.
Just above your white background
layer create a circle that’s approximately 425 pixels.
Objects/Align/Center in Canvas.
Color Pallet:
Close out your Foreground.
Open up the background.
Make your Text Tool active and move
your mouse along the circle until you see a Rocking A.
Click your mouse – a text box will
appear.
Type your name again and again until
you’ve gone all the way around the circle.
Click apply.
Click on the + sign in your layers
pallet.
Click on the eye of the New Ellipse
layer.
Highlight and Right click your mouse
on Vector 1 layer.
Choose “Convert to Raster Layer”.
Duplicate your name layer.
Color Pallet:
Open up the foreground and change it
to #54ddeb.
Reverse the foreground and
background colors.
Make your Color Replacer Tool active
and double right click on your duplicated name layer.
It should turn to blue.
Move the blue layer slightly to the
right below the black layer in your layers pallet.
Merge Visible both name layers.
Apply Noise effect.
Duplicate the name layer.
To the bottom name layer apply
Toadies – Ommadawn:
Use Default Settings.
Open up the paper layer.
Move it just above your white
background layer and move into a position so that the sand fills the background
area.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Copy and paste the crab from the kit.
Resize 5%.
Add your copyrights.
Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Resize all layers 85%.
