Changing Seasons



Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the beautiful artwork of Janna Prosvirina which can be purchased from Digital Art Heaven.

Font of choice – I used Caneletter Script Thin here

Vix mask 451 here

Plug Ins used:
Mura’s Meister – Copies
Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow

“Changing Seasons” is a tagger size scrap kit created by Laura of Tiny Turtle Designs and can be purchased from any of her stores here.  She has a fantastic sale going on right now!
  
This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D
Close out the original.
Delete the top 6 layers.
Open up the background layer.

Highlight 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Gaussian and Monochrome checked
Noise: 38%
OK
Selections/Modify/Contract by 6.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 21 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Copy and paste element 8 as a new layer.
Resize 5% and 50%
Duplicate
Move each element to the corners of the paper – see my tag for reference.

Highlight 2.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Apply the same Noise Effect.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 6.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 16 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight 4.
Repeat the above step.

Copy and paste element 203 as a new layer.
Resize 10%
Apply Mura’s Meister – Copies:
Choose Encircle
Change the top 3 numbers to:
Number: 21
Shift X: 60
Shift Y: 60
OK
Duplicate the ring of flowers and move each into position – see my tag for reference.

Highlight 3.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow 2x’s:
Use Default Settings.
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Copy and paste Element 7 as a new layer.
Resize 5% and 60%
Duplicate 2x’s for a total of 3 and place at each corner of the brown paper – see my tag for reference.

Highlight 5.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Apply the same Noise Effect.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 6.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 22 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – if you’re using the same tube as I did, resize 70%.
Right click on it in your layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the sub menu.
Delete the original tube layer.
Change the Properties of the tube to Overlay.
Deselect for now.
Paste your tube again – again, if you’re using the same tube as I did, resize 50%.
Move into a position you like.
If you want to keep the antlers and feather from being deleted read **My Notes below.  If not the highlight the template layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Contract by 6.
Selections/Invert
Highlight the tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

**My Note:
Make your Selection Tool active set on Point to Point and mode to Add Shift.  Set the Feather amount to 1.
On the tube where the antlers overhang the circle, trace around them including a little bit inside the circle –

Move down to the feather area and section off the feather the same way.
Once you’ve done that, highlight the tube layer in your layers pallet.
Right click on it and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Just the antlers and feather should now be on the promoted layer.
Deselect.
Highlight the template layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 6.
Highlight the tube layer in your in your layers pallet.
Right click on it and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Deselect.
Delete the original tube layer.
Highlight the antler and feather layer.
Merge Down.
Now the tube should all be one layer, just the antlers and feather protruding from the circle paper.

Add your elements.  I used:
237:  Resize 35%/Duplicate/Mirror
203:  Resize 10%/Duplicate 3x’s for a total of 4.
141:  Resize 15%/Duplicate
115:  Resize 45%
113:  Resize 20%/Duplicate/Mirror
164:  Resize 15%/Free rotate Right 20 degrees
111:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Mirror
105:  Resize 15%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 19 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.
Duplicate 2x’s and move one mask layer to the left and the other to the right – just until you can see them peeking out from the sides.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground and Background: #23282f

Make your Text Tool active.
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.

Nearly Autumn

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste element 15-Hang as a new layer.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste 18-wood (the paper with horizontal wood) Into Selection.
Deselect.

Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Reopen your white background.

Move the merged layer to the left side of your canvas.

Copy and paste element 4-Frame as a new layer below the merged layer.
Resize 60%
Move into position behind the merged layer – see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste element 2 as a new layer.
Resize 35%
Move into position – see my tag for refernce,

Copy and paste element 6-Chevron as a new layer.
Resize 15%
Tap the letter K on your keyboard to activate your Pick Tool.  Pull the side in to make the chevron very thin – see my tag for reference.
Tap the letter M to deactivate the Pick Tool
Free rotate the element Right 90 degrees.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Image/Flip
Duplicate 2 more times and move all 3 chevrons into position – see my tag for reference.
Use your Eraser Tool and erase what overhangs on the left side of the merged layer.

Copy and paste element 30-Swirl as a new layer.
Resize 60%
Move into position – see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste element 20-Bow as a new layer.
Move into position – see my tag for reference.

Open up element 3-Spots.
In the top right corner you'll see a brown circle by itself.
Make your Selection Tool active and section around the circle.
Copy.
Make your working canvas active and paste the circle as a new layer.
Resize 35%
Apply Mura's Meister - Copies.
Choose Encircle and change the top 3 number settings:
Number: 35

Shift x: 35
Shift Y: 35
OK

Duplicate the ring and move both into position - see my tag for reference.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 18-wood (same paper you used earlier) Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: closed
 Background: #000000

Make your Text Tool active.
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Duplicate 2 times and rename each layer N1 (the top name layer), N2, and N3 (the bottom name layer).

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #6966fa

Highlight N2 layer
Make your Color Replacer Tool active and double right click on it.  It should have changed to a purple color.  Move this slightly to the left.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #d86f72

Highlight N3.
Repeat the above step.
The name should turn to a pink color.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.
