Winter Chill





Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the artwork of Alec Rud which was a November loyalty gift from Picsfor Design.

Font of choice – I used Mountains of Christmas Regular here

Monti Circular mask here
Vix 451 here

Plug In used:
Eyecandy 5: Nature – Snow Drift

“Aquamarine Winter” is a beautiful tagger size scrap kit created by Laura of Tiny Turtle Designs and can be purchased from her store here.  
  
This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 25 Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 26 Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 23 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Resize each paper 70%.
Free Rotate the bottom paper Left 5 degrees.
Free Rotate the top paper Right 5 degrees.
Highlight each paper and give it a slight Inner bevel:

Without moving the papers around too much, match up the top left corners of each paper – see my tag for reference. 

Minimize this working canvas for now.

Open a new 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 27 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the Monti Circular mask.
Merge Group.

Open up element 63.
Make your Freehand Selection Tool active set on Point to Point and section out only the tree:

Copy.
Paste it onto your working canvas.
Duplicate/Mirror
Move both trees near the edge of the mask.
Give each tree a drop shade and then Merge Visible both trees.
Apply the mask to the merged layer. 
Use your Eraser Tool, barely touch the sides if you see any harsh lines near the edges of the mask.
Copy, paste, and resize your tube as a new layer and move into position between both trees – see my tag for reference.
Highlight the masked paper layer.
Paste your tube as a new layer.
Change the Properties to Soft Light and move into a position you like – see my tag for reference.
To this tube layer apply the mask.
Merge Group.
If you can see some of this tube through the trees or near the bottom of the first tube then erase what you don’t want to see.

Close out your white background.
Merge Group.
Copy.

Reopen your other working canvas.
Highlight the top layer in your layer’s pallet.
Paste as a new layer.
Resize 80%
Move into position over the paper – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used (see my tag for reference):
28:  Resize 120%
141:  Duplicate
102:  Resize 50% (place between the papers)
73

57:  Resize 25%/Duplicate/Resize 70%
107:  Resize 30%/Duplicate/Use Pick Tool to move this way and that
93:  Resize 25
117:  Resize 25%
88:  Resize 30%
45:  Resize 20%/Mirror
102:  Resize 25%
61:  Resize 25%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 24 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.
Duplicate and change the Properties to Multiply.
Duplicate

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #5f5f5f
Background: #766962
Stroke set on .5
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Apply Eyecandy 5: Snow Drift to your name –
Match your settings to mine:

Close out your white background.
Resize all layers 600 pixels.
Save your tag as a PNG.

Christmas Surprise



Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the artwork of Dean Yeagle which can be purchased from CDO.

Font of choice – I used Mountains of Christmas Regular here

Gem mask 206 here

Rachel Designs Tag Template 47 here

Plugs Ins used:
Xero - Porcelain

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Resize all layers 600 px.
Highlight the background layer.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 px.
Flood fill white.

Highlight 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete template layer.

Highlight 2.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight 3.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 27 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight 4.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 24 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper the same slight Inner Bevel.

Highlight 5.
Repeat the above step.

Open up element 75.
Make your Selection Tool active and section out an area of the wood:

Highlight 6.
Click on each rectangle with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Make your Flood Fill tool active, set on Pattern and look for the wood pattern.
Flood fill with the wood pattern.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise Add Noise:
Random and Monochrome checked
Noise: 75%
OK
Selections/Modify/Contract by 5.
New Raster Layer.
Copy and paste Paper 23 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.  Move into position over the paper – see my tag for reference.
Right click on the tube in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Delete the original tube layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
To the promoted section tube layer Apply Xero – Porcelain:
Use default settings.

Add your elements.  I used (see my tag for reference):
141
28: Resize 85%/Duplicate
121:  Resize 60%/Duplicate/Mirror
133:  Resize 10%/Duplicate
129:  Resize 25%
77:  Resize 20%/Duplicate 2x’s
49:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Resize 70%/Duplicate
113:  Resize 20%/Duplicate
59:  Resize 25%/Mirror/Duplicate 2x’s
89:  Resize 60%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 25 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Duplicate and change the Properties to Multiply.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #508587
Background: #6eb4b6
Stroke set on .5
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Expand by 3.
New Raster layer below the name layer.
Flood fill with #f7fcfe.
Deselect.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Uniform and Monochrome checked
Noise: 40%
OK
Merge Visible both name layers.

Close out your white background.
Resize all layers 600 pixels.
Save your tag as a PNG.
