Seashells & Sandcastles Add On


Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the adorable artwork of Robin Pushay which can be purchased from Artistic Dreams Imaging.

Font of choice – I used Cinnamon Cake here

Vix mask 451 here

“Seashells & Sandcastles Add On” is a FTU tagger size scrap kit created by me, Bev of HorsePlay’s Pasture Designs and can be downloaded from my blog here
  
This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste El1 as a new layer.
Resize 45%
Free rotate Right 4 degrees
Duplicate/Mirror
Resize 85%
Don’t worry about placement just yet.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Move the frames and your tube (resize as needed) into exact position – see my tag for reference.

To both frames:
Highlight the frame.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 5 Into Selection.
Deselect.

Elements in the lower frame:
Copy and paste El4 as a new layer.
Resize 35%
Move into position – see my tag for reference.
Duplicate the element and resize 75%.
Duplicate the element.
Lower the Opacity of one of them to 20.
Resize the other 75% and position within the top frame – see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste el5.
Resize 40%
Position within the top frame – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
El 13:  Resize 75%/Duplicate
El 16:  Resize 50%/Mirror
El 17:  Resize 40%
El 14:  Resize 60%  

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.

New Raster layer above the mask layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.
Change the Opacity of this layer to Burn.
To create the ring of words:
Color Pallet:
Foreground and Background: #403c40
Close out the background.

Make your Ellipse Tool active.
Set the stroke to 2.0
Create a circle the size of the mask – see where the words are on my tag for reference.
In your color pallet, open up the background color.
Make your Text Tool active.
Move the cursor along the top of the circle until you see a Rocking A and click the mouse.
The text box will open.
Type the words “Seashells & Sandcastles”, hit the space bar 4x’s, type “GOOD MORNING” in all capital letters, hit the space bar 4x’s.
Use your mouse and highlight all the words and spaces, Right click the mouse and choose Copy.
Left click your mouse in the text box – the cursor should appear after the last 4 spaces.
Press Ctl + V on your keyboard.  The entire phrase you copied should paste.  Keep an eye on your tag and continue pressing Ctrl + V until all the words come to full circle.
If you find you have extra spaces and can’t fit another phrase then just click your mouse in the spaces after each phrase and add another space until it looks spaced out nicely.
In your layers pallet click on the eye of the New Ellipse layer.
Right click your mouse on Vector 1 layer.
Choose Convert to Raster layer.

To color the words:
Make your Freehand Selection Tool active, set on Point to Point.
Encircle each of the GOOD MORNING words in your circle.
In your layers pallet change the background color to #1d4d7c  
Make your Color Replacer Tool active and double right click on one of the GOOD MORNING phrases.  All of the GOOD MORNING phrases should turn blue.
Selections/Invert
In your color pallet change the background color to #188253.
Double right click your Color Replacer tool on the words “Seashells & Sandcastles”.  All of those phrases should turn green.
Deselect.
Duplicate the ring of words.
Merge Down.
Duplicate
Merge Down.
Give it a drop shadow.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #1d4d7c
Background: #188253

Make your Text Tool active.
Set the stroke to 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Make your Target Tool active
Set the size to 167 and Hardness to 50.
Barely brush the tool along the bottom of your name to give it a hint of blue color.
Give your name a drop shadow.

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste el1 as a new layer.
Don’t worry about placement yet.

Copy and paste el2
Resize 45%
Duplicate

Move all 3 elements into position –
See my tag for reference.
Merge Visible the two small round frames.

Highlight the rectangle frame.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Do not Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube below the frame as a new layer.
If you’re using the same tube as I did, Resize 50%
(You should not have to do anything else to the tube and Deselect)
If you’re using another tube and it overhangs the frame:
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Highlight the layer with the merged two small frames.
Make your Magic Wand active and click inside of each.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frames.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect for now.

Arrange the following elements below the frames (see my tag for reference) – don’t worry about what overhangs the frames.  We’ll come back and take care of that:
El 12
El 37
El 9:  Resize 30% - position mostly behind the sandcastle
El 9 again:  Resize 25% - position next to the sandcastle
El 73:  Resize 30%/Mirror
El 59:  Resize 26%/Change the Opacity to Soft Light
El72:  Resize 35%
El 13:  Resize 30%/Duplicate/Mirror one of them
El 62:  Resize 40%/Mirror

Highlight the paper layer that belongs to the small round frames.
Click anywhere outside of the papers.
Highlight each element that overhangs the frame and tap the delete key.
Desleect.

Add your elements.  I used:
El 9:  Duplicate
El 14:  Reel 35:  Resize 75%size 40%
El 25:  Free rotate Left 90 degrees (erase what overhangs the stones)
El 55:  Resize 60%
El 56:  Resize 45%
El 57:  Resize 40%
El 16:  Resize 35% and 85%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 105%
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #530a23 
Background: #cb6a59

Make your Text Tool active.
Set the stroke to 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Close out your white background.
Save your tag as a PNG.
