Don't Be Crabby



Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the wonderful artwork of Paola Zunico and can be purchased from DigitalArt Heaven.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer.

Copy and paste El 49 as a new layer.
Resize 40%
Move into position over template Layer 1.
Duplicate the element layer.
Move into position over template Layer 2.
Delete templates Layer 1 & Layer 2.

Copy and paste El 8 as a new layer over template Layer 4.
Resize 35% and 95% and move into position over the template.
Paste the element (again) this time over Layer 6.
Resize 30% and move into position over the template.
Delete template Layers 3, 4, 5, and 6.
To each of the frames:
Use your Magic Wand and click inside of the frame.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
Copy and paste Paper 12 as a new layer below the frame.
Highlight the paper in your layers pallet and right click your mouse.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Apply Richard Rosenman – Scan Lines:
Match your settings to mine and change the color to #f4da8a:

Highlight Layer 7.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 5 Into Selection.
Click the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet (to lock the layer).
Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur:
Match your settings to mine:

Click the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet (to unlock the layer).

Delete the template layer.

Highlight Layer 8.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 15 Into Selection.
Duplicate and change the Properties to Burn.
Duplicate.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Layer 11.
Merge Down.
Merge Down again.
Layers 9, 10, and 11 should now all be on the same layer.
Use your Magic Wand and click on each rectangle.
Copy and paste paper 2 as a new layer over the merged template layer.
Resize the paper 60%.
Right click on it in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to layer”.
Delete the original paper layer.
Copy and paste El 74 as a new layer.
Duplicate.
Move both element layers into position so that it looks like the sandy ocean bottom.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.

Now you can add elements to make a water scene.  I used:
45:  Resize 10%
46:  Resize 15%/Duplicate
66:  Resize 12%
52:  Resize 10%/Duplicate
38:  Resize 10%
23, 24, & 25:  Resize 10%/Duplicate as many times as you like, Mirror as you like, and even lower the Opacity on some.

Highlight Layer 12.
Click on each of the lines with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 4
OK
Deselect.
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste El 26 as a new layer.
Resize 15%
Duplicate
Move each of the elements into position over template Layer 14 & Layer 15.
Delete both template layers.

Copy and paste El 28.
Resize 25%
Duplicate/Mirror
Move both elements into position over template Layer 13 & Layer 16.
Delete both template layers.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your elements.  I used:
52:  Resize 30%/Duplicate/Mirror
37:  Resize 35%/Free Rotate Right 10 Degrees
76:  Resize 30%/Free Rotate Right 5 degrees/Duplicate

Close out the background layer.
Merge Visible.
Resize 90%

Reopen the white background.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur:
Use Same settings.
Apply the mask.
Resize 105%
Merge Group.

Add the following elements:
50:  Resize 45%/Duplicate 3x’s and move all into position (see my tag for reference)
47:  Resize 15%
69 & yo:  Resize 30%/Free rotate one of them Left 7 degrees.  Duplicate both bows and resize 70%
11:  Resize 40%/Duplicate

Add your copyrights.

Add your name –
Make your Pen Tool active, Mode set on “Draw Lines and Polylines”.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #000000
Null
Stroke width: 1
Trace along the bottom wave line clicking the mouse as you go
Make your Text Tool active.
Change the color pallet:
Foreground: #b72f2f
Background: #c3551d
Move your mouse along the center area of the line until you see a Rocking A, then click the mouse.
Type your name.
Click on the arrow next to your name in the layers pallet to expand the layer.
Click on the eye of the New Path layer.  The black line should disappear on your tag.
Right Click on the Vector 1 layer and choose Convert to Layer.
Apply Eyecandy 3.1 – Glow -
Width: 3
Opacity: 100
Color: #f7e09b
Click the Large check icon to apply.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer.

Highlight the Background layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 as a new layer.

Highlight Layer 1.
Copy and paste el 26 as a new layer.
Resize 75%
Move into position over the template layer.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Layer 2.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 15 as a new layer.
Resize 60% and move it into position so that it covers all of the template that can be seen.
Right click on the paper in your layers pallet.
Choose Promote Section to Layer.
Deselect.
Delete the original paper layer.

Open up el 7.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Section off a small area of the frame.
(keep this element open throughout the tutorial as we’ll be using it for the pattern)

Make your working canvas active.
Highlight Layer 3.
Click on both lines with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the pattern of the element you sectioned out.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste el 28 as a new layer.
Move into position over Layer 5.
Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 75%
Move into position over Layer 6.
Delete both template layers.

Highlight Layer 4.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the template layer.
Flood fill with the pattern of el 7.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 9
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK
Selections/Modify/Contract by 4.
Copy and paste Paper 2 as a new layer over the template layer.
Move into a position you like.
Right Click on the paper in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer”
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Don’t delete the original Paper 2 layer.
Repeat the above step with Layer 8 and Layer 9.

Highlight Layer 7.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the element pattern.
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes using same settings.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your elements.  I used:
38:  Resize 25%
25:  Resize 25%/Duplicate/Mirror/Lower Opacity to 34
24:  Resize 20%
23:  Resize 15%
51:  Resize 60%/Duplicate/Free Rotate Left 20 degrees
22:  Resize 35%
52:  Resize 35%
46:  Duplicate/Resize 60%
47:  Resize 25%

Add your copyrights.

Add your name –
Foreground and Background: #000000

Easter Dragon


Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the adorable artwork of Fania-Love and can be purchased from Digital Art Heaven.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D
Close out the original.
Delete the to 5 layers and Dotted Lines layer.

Highlight Multi-Coloured Stripes layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Click the lock icon at the top of the layers pallet to lock this layer.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 2
OK
Deselect.
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet to unlock the layer.
Delete the template layer.

Apply a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight Right Purple Rectangle layer.
Merge down.
Left and Right Purple Rectangle layers should now be on the same layer.
Paste Paper 6 as a new layer (it should still be in the program’s memory).
Resize 70%
In your layers pallet, highlight the merged template layer.
Use your Magic Wand and click on each rectangle.
In your layers pallet, highlight the paper layer and right click on it.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”
Delete the original paper layer.
Deselect.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Make sure the Mode is set to Add (shift)
Section off the right and left sides of the paper:

Press Ctrl + H on your keyboard.
Feather Selection box will appear.
Feather amount: 20
OK
Press Shift + B on your keyboard.
Brightness/Contrast box will appear:
Brightness: -71
Contrast: 10
Linear Mode: checked
OK
Deselect.
Make your Magic Wand active and click anywhere outside of the rectangle paper.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Select Selections Borders:
Outside and Anti Alias checked
Border width: 2
OK
Shift + B:
Use same settings.
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Green Circle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Seleciton.
New Raster Layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.  Change the Properties of this paper to Burn.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Pink Rectangle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 5 Into Selection. DO NOT close out this paper as we’ll be using it in the next step.
Click the icon at the top of the layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian blur:
Radius: 4
OK
Apply Brush Strokes – Sprayed Strokes:
Stroke Length: 12
Spray Radius: 7
OK
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet to unlock the layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:

Make Paper 5 active.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Section off a small dark blue area of the paper. (I used a section near the top next to the white scroll print).

In your color pallet, set the foreground to Pattern and look for that sectioned off blue area.
Highlight Pink Star.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the star.
Flood fill with the blue pattern.
Deselect.

Repeat the above step with Blue Star.

Highlight Pink Star.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Copy and paste the tube as a new layer over the paper layer.
Move into a position you like.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Change the Properties of the tube to Soft Light.  Duplicate this layer.
DO NOT DELETE THE TEMPLATE LAYER.

Highlight Blue Star.
Repeat the above steps accept use the image of the bunny rabbit this time.

Merge together both the Blue Star and Pink Star template layers and then move them to the top of your layers pallet.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Press Ctl + H.
Feather Selection Box will open.
Use same settings.
OK
Deselect.
Duplicate the feathered paper layer 2 times for a total of 3.
Rename them C1, C2, and C.

Highlight C1.
Apply Xenofex 2 – Constellation:
Match your settings to mine:

Repeat the above step accept hit the Random Seed button once.

Highlight the merged star template layers.
Click anywhere outside of them with your Magic Wand.
To each constellation layer –
Highlight the layer and then tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Close out C2 and C3.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
E11:  Resize 85%
E8
E50:  Resize 40%/Duplicate/Mirror
E47:  Resize 50%
E40:  Resize 70%/Duplicate 3x/Erase what overhangs the paper
E1:  Resize 85%
E4:  Duplicate 3 times

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Duplicate and change the Properties of this paper to Multiply.
Merge Down.
Duplicate and change the Properties of this layer to Multiply.
Merge Down.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
OK
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #1b2156
Background: #f97282
Stroke width: 1
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:
******************name bevel*********************

Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Contract by 1
Make your Target Tool active
Change to Target Tool settings to match mine:
Size: 74
Hardness: 15
Step: 10
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 100
In the color pallet set the Foreground color to: #93d3f5
Barely bump the bottom of your name with the Target Tool just to give it a slight blue tint.
Deselect.
Make your Freehand Selection Tool active.
Section around the blue tinted area making the line wavy – NOT NICE AND NEAT!
Press Ctrl + H on your keyboard
The Feather Selection box will open. 
Feather amount: 20
OK
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Random & Monochrome checked
Noise: 51%
OK
Deselect.

If you don’t want to animate your tag then save.

~Time to Animate~

Copy Merge.
Carry Into Animation Shop (AS)
Edit/Paste as New Animation.

Back in PSP.
Close out C1.
Open up C2.
Copy Merge

Carry Into AS
Edit/Paste/After Current Frame.

Back in PSP.
Close out C2.
Open up C3.
Copy Merge.

Carry Into AS.
Edit/Paste/After Current Frame.

View your animation.
If you’re happy with it then save.
