Little Bug


Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the artwork of Karen Middleton which can be purchased from CDO.  You must have a license to use.

Font of choice – I used Before the Rain here

Dee’s mask FM2 here

My Template 201 here

My Supplies here –
These are to be used for this tutorial only. 

Plug Ins used:
Brush Strokes - Crosshatch
Mura’s Meister – Copies
VM Distortion - Tumbler
  
This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 700
OK
Highlight the background layer and flood fill white.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer at the top of your layers pallet.
Apply Mura’s Meister – Copies:
Wallpaper (rotate)
OK
You should now have a paper that covers up the entire area.
Rename this layer MAIN PAPER.
Close this paper layer out.  We will be using it, but there’s no need to open it until I say.

In your layers pallet move MAIN PAPER just above LAYER 1.
Highlight LAYER 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the MAIN PAPER layer.
Right click and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Click on the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 10
OK
Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur:
Use Default Settings.
Apply the Radial Blur effect a total of 4 x’s.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 37
Sharpness: 7
Strength: 2
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Click the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet to unlock the layer.

Move MAIN PAPER above LAYER 2 template.
Highlight LAYER 2.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Right click your mouse on it and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Click the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet.
Effects/Texture Effects/Mosaic Glass:
Use Default Settings.
OK
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Select None.
Delete the template layer.

Move MAIN PAPER above LAYER 3.
Repeat the above step.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #a4c3d5
Background: #f7d7a8

Highlight LAYER 4.
Make your Color Replacer Tool active and double right click on the template.
It should have changed to a tan color.
Effects/Texture Effect/Blinds:
Width: 2
Opacity: 56
Color: #ffffff
Light from Left/Top checked
OK
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.

Highlight LAYER 5.
Repeat the above step.

Move MAIN PAPER just above LAYER 6 template.
Highlight LAYER 6.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Right click your mouse on the layer and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Click the lock at the top of your layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 6
OK
Apply Distortion – Tumbler:
Use Default Settings.
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet to unlock the layer.
Deselect.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.
Delete the template layer.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #929cb5
Background: #aa965d

Highlight LAYER 7.
Make your Color Replacer Tool active and double right click on the template.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Gaussian and Monochrome checked
Noise: 35%
OK

Repeat the above step with LAYER 8.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #eef0f5
Background: #81d2d4
Click on the foreground color and create a gradient:
Style: Sunburst
Angle and Repeats: 0
Invert unchecked
Horizontal & Vertical: 50
OK

Go back and Highlight LAYER 7.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Contract by 4.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the gradient.
Deselect.

Highlight LAYER 8 and repeat the above step.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer so that it covers both of the gradient circles.  Rename this tube layer MAIN TUBE.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Move it into a position you like.
Highlight one of the gradient circles and click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Right click your mouse on it and choose “Promote Section to Layer”.  Again, you’ll have to change the Properties of this layer to Soft Light.
Deselect.
Highlight the other gradient layer and repeat the last step.
Close out MAIN TUBE layer for now.

Color Pallet:
Foreground:  #a4c3d5
Background: #aa965d

Highlight LAYER 10.
Make your Color Replacer Tool active and double right click on the template.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Use same settings.

Highlight LAYER 11.
Repeat the above step.

Color Pallet:
Create the same type of gradient but use these colors -
Foreground: #e59972 
Background: #f2eada

Highlight LAYER 10.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 4.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the gradient.
Deselect.

Repeat the above step with LAYER 11.

Open up your tube layer.
Mirror
Move it above both your new gradient circles in your layers pallet and move into a position you like.
Like you did with the other 2 gradient circles and promoting layers with the tube, do that above each of these gradient circles.

You can now change the Properties of the tube to Normal and position it in front of all the circles – see my tag for reference.

Add the elements I supplies.

Open up MAIN PAPER layer.
In your layers pallet move it just above the Background layer.
Apply the mask.
Resize 105%
Merge Group.


Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #71b6d5  
Background: #9edede
Stroke: 2.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Resize all layers 85%.
