Rachel Designs Tag template 49 here

“Winter Green Collab” is a collaboration of 6 designers and can be purchased from Digital Art Heaven here.  For this tutorial I used Happy Pumpkin Studoio’s beautiful portion. You can check her site here

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Resize all layers 600 pixels.
Highlight the background layer.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 700
OK
Flood fill white.
Delete Raster 1, and template layers 1 and 2.

Highlight 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight 2.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight 5.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Lock the layer by clicking on the lock icon at the top of the layers pallet.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 7
OK
Click on the lock icon at the top of your layers pallet to unlock the layer.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke length: 34
Sharpness: 4
Strength: 2
OK

Highlight 6.
Repeat the above step.

Open up Paper 15.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Section off an area of the red on the paper.
Set your Foreground to that pattern.

Highlight 7.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the pattern.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight 8.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight 10.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with the pattern.
Deselect.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Uniform checked
Noise; 56%
OK
Delete the template layer.

You can now close the paper out.

Highlight 9.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 7 as a new layer.
Move the paper into a position you like over the template.
Right click on the paper in your layers pallet
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”.
Delete the original paper layer.
Deselect for now.
DO NOT delete the template layer yet.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer over the paper (I will tell you how to get rid of the red ring that’s over the tube in just a moment).
Move into position you like.
Copy and paste element 56 as a new layer.
Resize 50% and move into position behind the tube – see my tag for reference.  You can duplicate this element as many times as you like and resize some (I did 70%).  It’s your tag – create!!
Once you have the tube and trees in their exact position –
Highlight the template layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight each of the trees and hit the delete key.
If you’re using the same tube as I did, highlight the tube layer.
Make your Eraser Tool active and erase the bottom of the tube that overhangs the circle.
Deselect.

Make sure you’re still on the tube layer:
Select All/Float/Defloat
Highlight the red ring layer and erase where you can see the ring over the antlers.
Deselect.
Tada!  Now it looks like the deer’s antlers are in front of the red ring.  I have been PSPing for years and STILL enjoy doing this.  It’s still a “wow” moment for me ha ha!

Copy and paste element 26 as a new layer.
Resize 8%.
Apply Mura’s Meister – Copies:
Choose Encircle
Change the top 3 numbers as follows:
Number: 25
Shift X: 50
Shift Y: 50
OK

Duplicate the ring of flowers and move each behind the top left and bottom right circle papers.

Add your elements.  I used (see my tag for placement):
31:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Resize 70%/Duplicate – Duplicate each flower.
29:  Resize 10%/Duplicate
22:  Resize 70%
24:  Resize 25%
71:  Resize 20%
74: Resize 60%/Free rotate Left 90 Degree/Erase what you don’t want seen/Duplicate/Mirror
59:  Resize 30%/Duplicate as many times as you like/Mirroring and Flipping some of them

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper18 Into Selection.
Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 10
OK
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground and Background: #5b0707
Set the stroke to .5
Type your name.
 Convert to Raster Layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below the name layer.
Flood fill with #bfa158
Deselect.
Apply the same Noise effect
Give the red name layer the same slight Inner Bevel.
Merge Down
Both name layers should now be on the same layer.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
I’d love to see your results.
