Feelin' Irish



Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice – I used the precious artwork of Katerina Koukiotis which can be purchased from Digital Art Heaven.

Font of choice – I used Stonehenge here

Greg’s Factory Output Vol II – Pool Shadow

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Frame 3 as a new layer.
Resize 80%
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Section off the bottom half of the element from just above the large clovers:


Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Duplicate the element
Flip
Move the flipped layer up to match the original.
Merge Down.
You should now have a longer frame:

If you need to, center it on your canvas at this time.
Click inside of each frame.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
Copy and paste Paper 4 as a new layer below the frame.
Right click on the layer and choose “Promote Section to layer” from the sub menu.
Delete the Original paper layer.
Click the Lock Icon at the top of the layers pallet to lock this layer.
Adjust/Blur/Motion Blur:
Angle: 242
Strength: 57%
OK
Duplicate the paper layer.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Deselect.
Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet to unlock the layer.

Copy and paste Clock as a new layer.
Resize 80%
Be sure this is centered over the frame.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Random and Monochrome checked.
Noise: 56%
OK
Click anywhere outside of this element with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Contract by 10
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Click the Lock Icon at the top of your layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur:
Match your settings to mine -


Click the lock at the top of the layers pallet to unlock the layer.
Deselect.

Copy and paste Frame 3 as a new layer.
Resize 70%
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle and section out all of the 5 areas of the frame:

New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussion Blur:
Radius: 8
OK
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol II – Pool Shadow:
Use default settings accept change Intensity to 43.
Deselect for now.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Center it over the smaller frame.  If you’re using the same tube as I did, resize 50%
Paste the tube again as a new layer below the frame.  If you’re using the same tube as I did, resize 70%
Move into position at the Left side.
Duplicate/Mirror and move into position under the right side of the frame.
Merge Down (so both tube layers are on the same layer)
Highlight the paper beneath the tubes and click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Highlight the merged tube layer.
Right click on it in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer” and change the Properties to Luminance (Legacy).
Delete the original merged tube layer.

Copy and paste Border 3 as a new layer at the top of your layers pallet.
Resize 90%
Duplicate/Flip and move atop of the original border element – see my tag for reference.
Merge Down – so both borders are on the same layer.
Center the merged layer below the paper you gave the Pool Shadow effect to – see my tag for reference.
Click anywhere outside of the merged border element with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below the border.
Copy and paste Paper 3 Into Selection.
Apply the Pool Shadow effect using same settings.
Deselect.

Add your elements.  I used:
Lolli:  Resize 50%/Duplicate/Flip/Mirror
Border:  Resize 85%
Label:  Resize 40%/Use Pick Tool to squash flat/Duplicate
Charm 2:  Resize 25%/Duplicate
Bow 2:  Resize 20%/Duplicate/Mirror
Bow 3:  Resize 30%/Duplicate/Mirror
Lights
Boot:  Resize 45%
Cupcake:  Resize 25%/Duplicate
Coin 2:  Resize 15%
Gold:  Resize 40%

Crop your image so you don’t have quite so much empty space at the top and bottom.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 3 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #473d29
Background: #417533

Make your Text Tool active.
Set stroke width to 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:
