Brush Strokes – Sprayed Strokes and Crosshatch
“King of Thrones” is a PTU tagger size scrap kit

This tutorial was
written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP.
~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~
Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Resize all layers 90%.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 700
OK
Highlight the background layer and
flood fill white.
Delete the top 3 layers and Raster 11.
Highlight Aqua Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 9 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 9
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK
Delete the template layer.
Highlight White Oval layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with
your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into
Selection.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Gaussian and Monochrome checked
Noise: 83%
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Blue Oval layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into
Selection.
Copy and paste Foliage 2 element as
a new layer above the paper.
Move into a position you like.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Highlight Bottom Purple shape layer.
Merge down.
Bottom Purple Shape and Top Purple
Shape should now both be on the same layer.
Click on both shapes with your Magic
Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 9 Into
Selection.
Deselect for now.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Use same settings.
Copy and paste your tube as a new
layer. If you’re using the same tube as
I did, resize 80% and 70% and mirror it.
Move the tube into position over the
bottom shape – see my tag for reference.
Highlight the merged template layer.
Click on the bottom shape with your
Magic Wand.
Highlight your tube layer.
Right click on it and choose “Promote
Section to Layer”.
Change the Properties of the
promoted layer to Luminance(Legacy) and lower the Opacity to about 59.
Delete the tube layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Dark Blue Top Rectangle
layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into
Selection.
Apply Brush Strokes – Sprayed Strokes:
Stroke Length: 12
Spray Radius: 18
Right Diagonal
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Dark Blue Bottom Rectangle
layer.
Repeat the above step.
Highlight Bottom Aqua Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into
Selection.
Click on the Lock icon at the top of
your layers pallet to lock the layer.
Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur:
Click on Spin and use default
settings.
OK
Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Top Aqua Circle.
Repeat the above step.
Highlight Top Purple Rectangles.
Click on each one with your Magic
Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 9 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Bottom Purple Rectangles.
Repeat the above step.
Highlight White Bordered Rectangles
layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 3 Into
Selection.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Use same settings.
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #ffffff
Background: #151515
Highlight Dashed Line Bottom layer.
Make your Color Replacer Tool
active.
Double right click on the dotted
lines.
Repeat the above step with Dashed
Line Top layer.
Open up Crows element.
Shift + D.
Close out the original element.
Make your Selection Tool active set
on Rectangle.
Section off the bottom bar that the
crows are sitting on.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Copy
Paste as a new layer on your working
canvas.
Resize 35%
Duplicate
Move both of these crow elements
into position over the bottom rectangles – see my tag for reference.
Once they’re in place, Merge Visible
both crow layers.
Erase the crows that overhang the
rectangles.
Duplicate
Move these crows to the top
rectangles on your canvas – see my tag for reference.
Copy and paste your tube as a new
layer.
If you’re using the same tube as I
did, resize 80%
Move into position.
Highlight the large glittered circle
layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with
your Magic Wand.
Highlight your tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Add your elements. I used:
Charm 2: Resize 50%/Mirror
Ivy 1: Resize 50%/Mirror
Ribbon 4: Resize 60%/Duplicate
Frame Mesh: Resize 25%/Sharpen/Duplicate
Leaves: Resize 50%/Duplicate/Mirror
Crop your image.
Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and Paste Paper 1 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Make your Pick Tool Active (Tap the
letter K on our keyboard) and pull the sides out just a little.
Merge Group.
Add your copyrights.
Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground and Background: #151515
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel 2x’s:
