This tutorial was
written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.
~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~
Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the top 3 layers.
Resize all layers 80%
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 500 Pixels
OK
Highlight the background layer.
Flood fill with #ffffff
Highlight Square 4 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste el47 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Click inside the frame with your
Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 18 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Visible the paper and frame.
Duplicate the merged layer.
Move into position over Square 3
layer.
Delete both template layers.
Copy and paste el67 as a new layer
at the top of your layers pallet.
Resize 50%
Free rotate Left 10 degrees.
Click inside of it with your Magic
Wand. Zoom in and click inside of each
area of the webbing.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below this frame.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Give the frame a drop shadow.
Merge Down.
Frame and Paper should now be on the
same layer.
Duplicate this merged layer.
In your layers pallet move each
merged layer into position over Square 1 and Square 2 template layers.
Delete both template layers.
Highlight Rectangle 1 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 17 as a new
layer.
Resize 50%
Right click on the paper in your
layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”
from the drop down menu.
Deselect.
Delete the original paper layer.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:
Highlight Thin Rectangle 1 layer.
Merge Down.
Both thin rectangles should now be
on the same layer.
Click on both of them with your
Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 25 as a new
layer.
Resize 50%
Right click on the paper in your
layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer”
from the drop down menu.
Delete the template layer and
original paper layer.
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II
– Pool Shadow:
Match your settings to mine –
Deselect.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:
Highlight Small Circle Back.
Click anywhere outside of it with
your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into
Selection.
Duplicate/Change the Properties to
Multiply.
Merge Down.
Deselect.
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Intensity: 50
Mix checked
OK
Delete the template layer.
Repeat the above step with:
Frame template (give a slight Inner
Bevel using the very first settings in this tutorial)
Circle Back template (don’t
duplicate the paper)
Highlight Small Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into
Selection.
Add the following elements to the
circle (don’t worry about what overhangs, we’ll clean it up in a bit):
El26: Resize 10%
El13: Resize 15%
El6:
Resize 35%
OPTIONAL:
If you’re using the same tube as I
did, copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Change the Properties to Overlay.
Selections/Invert
Highlight the tube and all elements
and tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Large Circle 2 layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with
your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 25 Into
Selection.
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Use same settings.
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight Large Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into
Selection.
Copy and paste a close up Image as a
new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Highlight Raster 2 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight the frame layer that
belongs to this paper.
Click inside of it with your Magic
Wand.
Highlight the black paper in your
layers pallet that belongs to this frame.
Copy and paste el 42 as a new layer
and move into a position you like.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Copy and paste el1 as a new layer
above the frame.
Erase the tail end of the ghost to
make it appear as if it’s floating out of the frame.
Deselect.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #d0873e
Background: #c00000
Make a gradient of your choice using
these colors.
Copy and paste el94 as a new layer.
Resize 50%
Use your Target Tool and color this
with your gradient color.
Duplicate/Mirror the element.
Move them into position – see my tag
for reference.
Add your elements. I used:
El68: Resize 20%
El23: Resize 30%
El18: Resize 10%/Duplicate/Flip
El24: Resize 25%/Duplicate/Mirror
El31: Resize 30%
El31 (again): Resize 20%/Duplicate/Resize 70%
El65: Resize 20%/Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
El51: Resize 20%
El28: Resize 10%
El27: Resize 40%
El19: Resize 25%
El29: Resize 20%
El105: Resize 20%
El20: Resize 25%
EL30: Resize 10
El3:
Resize 65%/Mirror
El37: Resize 15%
El122: Resize 15%
El93: Resize 15%
EL 36: Resize 70%/Duplicate/Mirror
Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into
Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.
Move the mask to the left side of
your background.
Duplicate/Mirror
Add your copyrights.
Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground & Background: #100d09
Stroke: 1.0
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below your name.
Flood fill with #f27e23
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Use same settings
OK
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II –
Pool Shadow:
Match your settings to mine:
Merge Visible both name layers.
Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Resize all layers 85%.
