Nature's Hidden Treasure


Supplies Needed

Font of choice – I used Darleston here

Gem mask 55 here

My template 183 here

“Tune of Spring” is a PTU scrap kit created by Susan of Tootypup Scraps and can be purchased from any of her stores here.  Thank you Susan for such a beautiful kit!  And so very sorry it's taken me a year to get this to you!!
  
This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the Credit layer and LAYER 5.

Highlight LAYER 1.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 6 as a new layer.
Move it into a position you like over the template.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper layer a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight LAYER 2.
Repeat the above steps accept change the settings of the Inner bevel:

Highlight LAYER 3.
Click anywhere outside of the template with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight LAYER 4.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight LAYER 6.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 5 as a new layer.
Move into a position you like.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect for now.
Give the paper layer a slight Inner Bevel:

Add the following elements above the rectangular paper, moving them into position – see my tag for reference:
(Don’t worry about what overhangs the paper, we’ll clean that up in a bit)
Tree Stump 01
Grass 01:  Resize 50%/Duplicate (this is the grass behind the swans)
Grass 01:  Resize 40%/Duplicate (this is the grass in front of the swans)
Baby Swans 01:  Resize 40%

Highlight template LAYER 6.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight each element that overhangs the paper layer and tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Highlight LAYER 7.
Copy and paste element TuneOfSpring_08.
Resize 30%
Move into position over the template layer.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight LAYER 8.
Paste TuneOfSpring_08 as a new layer again (it should be in the program’s memory)
Resize 25%.
Move into position over the template layer.
Delete the template layer.
Duplicate the element layer.
Mirror
Move into position over template LAYER 9.
Delete LAYER 9.

Highlight LAYER 10.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper the same Inner Bevel you gave to the large Rectangle paper layer.

Repeat the above steps with LAYERS 12 & 14.

Highlight LAYER 11.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 5 Into Selection.
DO NOT DESELECT.
Lock the layer by clicking on the icon that looks like a lock at the top of the layer pallet.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius: 5
OK
Deselect.
Copy and paste SpringBird_01 as a new layer.
Resize 40%
Mirror
Move into position over the small square – see my tag for reference.
Duplicate the element layer and move to the right just slightly.
In your layers pallet move it below the other element and change the Properties to Soft Light, lower the Opacity to about 45.
Highlight template LAYER 11.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight each element and tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above steps with LAYER 13 AND 15.  Use the following elements for each one (DO NOT mirror either birds):
LAYER 13 use Springbird_02
LAYER 15 use Springbird_03

Add the rest of your elements.  I used:
Bow_04:  Resize 40%
Butterfly 01:  Resize 65%
Bee_01:  Resize 30%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Tap the letter K on your keyboard to make the Pick Tool active.
Pull the top of the mask down just a little and bottom up just a little.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #4d1100
Background: #ffc647
Stroke: 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Crop your image.
Close out the white background layer.
Merge Visible.
Resize all layers 85%.
