Harvest Moon


Supplies

1 tube of choice – I used the artwork of Anna Marine which can be purchased from CDO.  You must have a license to use.

Font of choice – I used Aquarelle here

Weescotlass Mask 138 here

Plug Ins used:
Brush Strokes – Crosshatch

~~ Lets get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

New Raster layer.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Rectangle.
Create a rectangle approximately 478 x 450 pixels – it’s ok if it’s not centered on your canvas.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Center it on your canvas.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Monochrome and Gaussian checked
Noise: 45%
OK

Open up Paper 6.
Use your Selection Tool set on Rectangle and section out the area of the largest leaf on the left side of the paper.
Copy
Make your working canvas active.
Use your Magic Wand and click anywhere outside of the rectangle paper.
Selections/Invert
Selection/Modify/Contract by 3.
New Raster layer above the rectangle layer.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 42
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer above the brush stroke paper.
Highlight the brush stroke paper.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Change the Properties of the tube to Soft Light.

Close out your white canvas.
Merge Visible.
Reopen the white background.

New Raster layer.
Use your Selection Tool still set on Rectangle and create a rectangle approximately 210 x 225 pixels.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Give it the same Noise effect.

Make Paper 6 active.
Use your Selection Tool still set on Rectangle and section out the same area of the leaf on the left side of the paper.
Copy.

Make your working canvas active.
Use your Magic Wand and click anywhere outside of the rectangle paper.
Selections/Invert
Selection/Modify/Contract by 3.
New Raster layer above the rectangle layer.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 42
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer above the brush stroke paper.
Highlight the brush stroke paper.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Change the Properties of the tube to Screen.

Close out the merged layer and white background layer.
Merge Visible.
Reopen all layers.
Move the newest merged layer into position – see my tag for reference.

New Raster layer.
Use your Selection Tool still set on Rectangle and create a rectangle approximately 150 x 210 pixels.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Give it the same Noise effect.

Make Paper 6 active.
Use your Selection Tool still set on Rectangle and section out the area of the leaf on the right side of the paper near the top corner.
Copy.

Make your working canvas active.
Use your Magic Wand and click anywhere outside of the rectangle paper.
Selections/Invert
Selection/Modify/Contract by 3.
New Raster layer above the rectangle layer.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes – Crosshatch:
Stroke Length: 42
Sharpness: 6
Strength: 1
OK
Deselect.
Merge Down.
Move this merged layer into position – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
El 26
El 16:  Resize 50%/Duplicate/Resize 70%
El 14:  Resize 40%/Duplicate/Resize 70%
El 15:  Resize 60/Duplicate/Erase the lower stem
El 47:  Use your Selection Tool set on Rectangle and section out the top wheat/Copy/Paste on your working canvas/Resize 45%/Free rotate Right 80 degrees/Duplicate/Mirror
El 37:  Resize 50%/Duplicate/Free rotate Left 90 degrees
El 34”  Resize 50%/Flip/Erase the stem/Duplciate/Free rotate Left 90 degrees

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 125%
Merge Group.

Add your credits.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 80%.
