Gothic Love

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up a transparent 700 X 700 image.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Frame 5 as a new layer.
Resize 85%.
Use your Magic Wand and click inside the frame.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
Copy and paste a paper of choice below the frame.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key
DO NOT DESELECT

Copy and paste your tube below the frame.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Element 54: Resize 60%
Element 65: Resize 75% Duplicate/Resize 80%
Element 23
Element 24
Element 12 & 13: Resize 40%
Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 85%.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer and Star layers 1 thru 7.

Highlight Stripes 1 layer.
Merge down.
Stripes 1 & 2 layers should now be on the same layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste Element 36 as a new layer.
Position it over the top strip. Use your eraser tool to get rid of all the overhang.
Duplicate 3 times and move each into position over each of the strips.

Highlight Big Frame layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol II - Pool Shadow:


Repeat the above step with Frame layer accept use a different paper.
Apply Pool Shadow - same settings as before.

Highlight the Words layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Delete the template layer.
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol II- Pool Shadow - same settings
Add your embellishments. I used:
Element 55: Resize 50%
Element 6: Resize 60%
Element 22: Resize 60%
Element 21: Resize 55%
Element 11: Resize 60% and 90%. Flip/Free rotate right 30 degrees
Element 65: Resize 70% - apply Pool Shadow.

Copy and paste one of the Witchy Poo’s as a new layer.
Resize 70% and 90%
Apply the Pool Shadow:
You can use these settings or you can toy around with the numbers and find a setting you prefer.


Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Or you can flood fill with a gradient of your choice.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Apply the same Pool Shadow as the last time.

Copy and paste Element 32 as a new layer.
Resize 60%. Free rotate right 90 degrees
Position so that it appears to be laced through your name.

Resize all layers 90%.

Open up a transparent 700 X 700 image.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Frame 8 as a new layer.
Use your Magic Wand and click inside the frame.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 6.
New Raster Layer below the frame.
Flood fill black.
DO NOT DESELECT

Apply Mura Meister Cloud:


Deselect

Copy and paste Element 40 as a new layer.
Position it so that it appears to be growing out of the frame.
See mine for reference.
Give it a heavy drop shadow using a light gray color.
Repeat the drop shadow using black.

Copy and paste Element 50 as a new layer.
Resize 50%.
Move behind the tree.
Give it a heavy drop shadow using a light gray color.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Element 65: Resize 40%
Element 13: Free rotate left 20 degrees. Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
Element 17: Resize 50%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Copy and paste Element 37 as a new layer.
Position it in the top right corner.
Duplicate/Mirror
Merge Down
Merge Down again.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
I gave mine a slight inner bevel:


Resize all layers 80%.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer below the frame.
Enlarge to a size you like.
Tap the delete key.
Lower the opacity to about 24.
Deselect.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Element 6: Resize 25%
Element 4: Resize 25% and 60%
Element 2: Resize 25%
Element 34: Resize 25% Free rotate left 25 degrees
Element 13: Resize 25% and 50% Free rotate left 90 degrees

Close out your white canvas.
Merge Visible.
Reopen your white canvas.

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
I used my Pick Tool to stretch the mask upward just a bit.

Highlight the merged layer.
Apply Eyecandy 5: Nature - Snow Drift


Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Add your copyrights.
Add your name.
I gave mine a slight inner bevel:

Apply the same snow affect you used as before to your name.

Resize all layers 80%.

Open up a transparent 700 X 700 image.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Gold Frame as a new layer.
Resize 50%
Use your Magic Wand and click inside the frames and the little area that overlaps.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 14.
Copy and paste a paper of choice below the frame.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Use your Magic Wand and click inside one of the frames.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 14.
Copy and paste one of your tubes below the frames.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Repeat the above step with the other frame.

Close out your white canvas. Merge visible.
Reopen your white canvas.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Pine: Resize 35%. Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 50%
Leaf Cluster: Resize 35%
Butterfly: Resize 50%. Duplciate/Mirror/Resize 60%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Copy and paste Feather 2 as a new layer above the mask.
Free rotate left 15%
Apply the mask again.
Merge group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
I gave mine a slight inner bevel:


And then added some noise:


Resize all layers 80%.

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer and Circle Dotted line layer.

Highlight Circle layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste Frame 1 as a new layer over the circle.

Highlight Bottom Rectangle.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Selections/Invert
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer over the rectangle
Selections/Modify/Contract by 20
Selections/Modify/Feather
Number of Pixels: 33
OK
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key until you have the feathered look you like.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above step with the other 2 Rectangle layers.

Create a new 700 x 700 transparent image and flood fill with a color that’s contrasting to the paper you chose for the rectangles.
Edit/Copy

Make your working canvas active.
Highlight Bottom Rectangle Corners layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Edit/Paste as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above step with Middle and Top Rectangle layers.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Daisy 1 & 3: Resize each 30%
Flowerspray 2: Free rotate left 10 degrees. Duplicate/Mirror
Apple Blossom 3
Butterfly 1, 2 & 3: Resize each 70%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster Layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Resize110%

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 90%.

Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Apply the same inner bevel.

Highlight Raster 5.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer.
Resize to your liking.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Delete the template layer.
DO NOT DESELECT

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Position over the rectangle.
Selections/Modify/Feather
Number of pixels: 53
Ok
Tap the delete key until you have the feathered look you like.
Deselect.
Merge Down.
Apply the same inner bevel.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above steps with Raster 6 using a different tube.

Copy and paste String Bow 1 as a new layer.
I colorized mine to match my tag.
Resize 25% and 80%
Position at the corner of one of your rectangles.
Duplicate, move into position also.

Copy and paste the words that I’ve supplied as a new layer.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Resize 94%

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 85%.

Resize 70%.

Add your embellishments. I used:
Branch 1: Resize 50%
Candle: Resize 25%. Duplicate, resize 80%
Box: Resize 25%
Key: Resize 25% and 70% Free rotate right 85 degrees
Feather: Resize 25% and 70% Free rotate right 40 degrees
Dragonfly 2: Resize 25% Free rotate right 30 degrees
Dragonfly 2: Resize 25% Free rotate left 30 degrees
Sofa: 25%
Umbrella: Resize 70%

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Group.

I wanted my tube and the candles’ reflection in the mirror:
Duplicate/Mirror only the things you wanted reflected in the mirror.
Rename them. I renamed mine:
Mirror Tube
Mirror Candle 1
Mirror Candle 2
Close out all the layers that are in the way of the mirror.
Using your Freehand Selection Tool outline the mirror:



Open up the layers that are to be the reflections.
Selections/Modify/Feather
Number of pixels: 53
OK
Selections/Invert
Highlight each layer and tap the delete key until you have the feathered look you want.
Lower the opacity to around 26 - 31 or so.
Tip: Be sure the “mirrored images” are beneath the images outside the mirror in your layers pallet.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Crop your image.

Resize all layers 80%.

Default settings.

Highlight Diamond 2.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster Layer.
Flood fill with the same gradient accept uncheck Invert.
Change the Properties to Overlay.
Merge down.
Apply Filters Unlimited - Japanese Paper - same as before.
Merge Down.
Both Diamonds should be on one layer now.

Highlight the Frame layer.
Use your Freehand Selection Tool to outline the frame.
Copy and paste your image as a new layer below the frame.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Highlight the merged diamonds layer.
Duplicate.
Highlight the original.
Apply Toadies - Ommadawn:


Image Resize 105%

New Raster layer above your white background.
Set your color pallet:
Foreground: #785a33
Background: #e9e0a2
Gradient set like this:



Flood fill with the gradient.
Crop your image.

Apply Xenofex 2 - Burnt Edges


Add your copyrights.

Add your name using the same Gradient you used for paper.
Give it an inner bevel:



Crop your image.

Resize all layers 80%.

You’ll use this image to feather your tubes:
Copy and paste your tube onto the new image.
Give it the drop shadow you want.
Using your Freehand Selection Tool, outline the image.
Selections/Modify/Feather
Number of Pixels: 53
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key until you have a nice feathery look.

Repeat the above step with each of your tubes.

Make your template active.
Highlight Top Rectangle layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Copy and paste each of your tubes as a new layer.
Resizing each to your liking.
Arrange them exactly where you’d like them.
Selections/Invert
Highlight each tube layer and tap the delete key.
Merge Visible your tube layers.
Apply Xero-Porcelain:



Duplicate/Mirror
Move it into position over the Bottom Rectangle layer.
Edit/Copy
Highlight the word Shameless.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Contract by 2
Edit/Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.

Highlight Top Stripes layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with a gradient of your choice.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above step with Bottom Stripe layer.
 
Close out your white background and merge visible.
Reopen your white background.
Duplicate your merged layer.
Highlight the Original.
Apply Mura Meister - copies: Wallpaper



Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Duplicate/Merge down.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name using the same Gradient you used for the stripes.
Give it an inner bevel:


Crop your image.

Resize all layers 80%.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Highlight Right Stamp Frame.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster Layer.
Flood fill with #c7a44f.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Repeat all of the above steps with the other stamp accept use a different tube.

Close out your white background and merge visible.
Reopen your white background.

Copy and paste the balloon as a new layer
Resize 25% and 80%.
Mirror.
Move the balloon up on your canvas until you can see the bow at the end of the string. Using your Selection Tool, outline a portion of it.

Edit/Copy
Deselect
Edit/Paste as new layer.
Now move your balloon into position where you want it. See mine for reference. Notice how you can’t see the bottom of the string? Move the copy of the string into position so that it looks like part of the balloon.


Highlight your balloon and use your Eraser Tool to erase the string that you can’t see the bow on that hangs below the stamp frames.

Copy and paste the balloon as a new layer again.
Resize 25% and 70%
Repeat the above steps with the string.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste the paper Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Copy and paste the music notes as a new layer.
Resize 40%
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
 
Type the words “Happy Birthday”
Foreground: black
Background: black
Convert to a Raster layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Contract by 1
Flood fill with #cdd587
Give it an inner bevel:


Add some Noise:



Deselect.

Copy and paste Cloud as a new layer.
Resize 20%

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Repeat the same steps as you did for Happy Birthday.

Copy and paste Candles 2 as a new layer behind your name.
Resize 25% and 40%.

Crop your image.

Open up a transparent 700 X 700 image.
Flood fill white.

Copy and Paste Element 18 as a new layer.
Resize 65%
Click inside with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
Copy and paste a paper of choice below the frame.
Selections/Invert
DO NOT DESELECT

Copy and paste your tube below the frame.
Selections/Modify/Feather
Number of Pixels:
53
OK
Tap the delete key until you have the feathered image you like.
Lower the opacity to around 61 or so.
Deselect.

Copy and paste Element 2 as a new layer.
Resize 80%

Copy and paste Element 3 as a new layer.
Resize 30%

Copy and paste Element 14 as a new layer.
Resize 30%
Free rotate right 35 dgrees.
Duplicate/Resize 60%

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste a paper of choice Into Selection.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 80%.

1 tube of choice - I used the beautiful artwork of John Paul Ballard which can be purchased here.
Font of Choice - I used Pavane here
Becky Mask 22 here
My Template 65 here

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up the template.
Shift + D
Close out the original.
Delete the credit layer.

Highlight the Circle layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster Layer
Flood Fill with a gradient of your choice in colors that match your tube.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight the Circle Ring.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster Layer
Flood Fill with a dark color of your choice that matches your tube.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight the Words layer and repeat the above step.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with a gradient of your choice.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add you name.

Crop your image.
